computer cannot recognize my external HDD

hello, im having a problem with my storejet25h3 which i recently purchased. After connecting it to a usb 2.0 port on my computer using its provided cable, my computer doesn't recognize it. No icon on my taskbar was shown and i cannot find it in my computer too. When i connected the external hdd, its LED lighted but still cannot be detected. When i connect usb devices to my computer, my computer detects them. I also tried different cables/chord for it.So how do I fix this? Pls help, thanks.

thank you sir for your answer but it seems that i cannot find it there too.
i tried connecting it to other computers and viola, they detected it, and now im puzzled on why my computer cant.
is there a problem with my ports?
by the way, i connected it to a built in usb port connected to the motherboard and not using an usb expansion card.
