Howdy, I just recently got some RAM cards (2x4GB DDR3) for my current setup:

Asus M4A87TD
AMD Phenom II X4 3.20GHz
2x Kingston HyperX DDR3 2GB
MSI Nvidia GTX460 not overclocked

After installing the new 2x 4GB RAM cards (also Kingston HyperX) everything went smoothly. Then after a day or so I noticed that in games like Titanfall there would be moments of hectic combat where there would be a few seconds of freezing but ping wouldn't increase and would stay steady and not fluctuate during those times. I turned down all settings to lowest and the problem was still there at moments of high action. In League of Legends there was also the same issue where only in times of much action the game would try to catch up to what was actually going on, resulting in alot of sped up animations and sliding around. I proceeded to take out the take out the cards thinking i was somehow overloading the computer with the ram, but now the problem is still there. Confused, I don't know if the issue is RAM now or my CPU or what. I'm hoping it is just a BIOS fix and not a having to make an expensive purchase fix. If anyone has an idea on what this could be it would be much appreciated!

Go thru the bios and see if any changes were made by inserting the extra ram. For example the motherbd would automatically clock all the ram at the speed of the slowest one. You dont mention this spec so you may have stuck in some old 1066...

Also some mobo's with this chipset will drop any overclocks you made because of instability with 4 stick of ram.

Everything in BIOS is still set to [AUTO] since I didn't want to change anything there yet. I was looking at the 2 sets of cards and saw one has a voltage of 1.5 while the newer ones are 1.65V . Could having them both in there have caused the instability that is now just plaguing the system?

At this point im just wondering if I reinstall my OS with all cards in, Would that make it easier to pinpoint what the problem is and if its RAM or the CPU or anything? or has having those 2 cards in there at the same time marked my mobo for death?

Nevermind, I just reset everything back to default settings and now everything is fine, turned out the modem was also causing issues so that was resolved as well.
