I have been using 17" LCD that has maximum resolution 1366*768 after that i bought a graphic card of 2GB and i have heard that 2GB cards are for those who needs higher resolution and my card has maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 now i have connected my card to my 34" LCD. Now i wonder how could i increase the resolution of my screen in here,as it still stuck at 1366*768 even though om bigger screen? i want to change it to 1920*1080 or higher.

Solution
Either: Right click on your desktop and choose 'Screen Resolution'. Then choose 'Resolution' and pull the slider up to 1080p.

Or if the option above do not work:

NVIDIA: Right click on desktop and choose 'NVIDIA Control Panel'. Then click 'Change Resolution' and change the resolution to 1080p. Make sure it's P.

AMD: Right click on desktop and choose 'AMD Catalyst Control Panel'. Then choose 'My Digital Flat Panel' and then click 'HDTV Support' and change the resolution to 1080p @60Hz

If connected TV or LCD support 1080p resolution you should be able to choose it from your graphics driver options or Windows screen size dialog. If you can't change anything try to re-install your GPU drivers.

How are you connecting to you TV just HDMI normally has higher resolutions than VGA on TV's but if your Television only supports 720p you will not be able to use 1080p resolution regardless of connection. If HDMI is an option and you arent currently using one try one as I have found that in the past went I have used my TV as a monitor HDMI has also been the best connection method... but eventually you will go back to monitor... its inevitable lol.

What is you brand model of you tv so I can check its inputs and its capable resolution as VGA in tv's normally only goes up to 1366*768 and hdmi will hit 1080 if the tv supports it but this information should be available on you televisions spec sheet.
