Will I be able to over clock a Pentium G3258 well with this build?

Hi I recently got a 670 from ebay and I'm going to university soon so I'd love to build a cheap SFF PC for it. I was impressed by the new Pentium G3258's ability to overclock so that would be the one I'd go for. I also saw that you can overclock it with the Asus H81I-Plus MB after a new update but I don't know how well.

Case: Silverstone SG08 Lite £50
Motherboard: Asus H81I-Plus £50
CPU: Pentium G3258 £46
PSU: Corsair VS450 £25
CPU Cooler: Zalmam CNPS8900 Quiet £25
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB £74
Intake Fan: Silverstone 180mm Penetrator £14

I already have RAM so this would be the perfect amount of money I would like to spend on my PC but the question in: Will I be able to get close to the 4.8ghz CPU speed some people are getting? I saw people were getting 4.5/4.6 with stock.

Thanks for any advice you can offer me.

The i5 would be a better bet for gaming if you can get one in your budget, going to run cooler and perform better
The i3 should be better then a Pentium for gaming (unless you have a very heavy overclock the i3 should outperform and has hyperthreading)

You should be able to get an i3 and cheaper mobo that will perform the same or better then an OC Pentium and Z series, with less heat and therefore quieter, and if you can get an i5 then fantastic

Short answer is I doubt it, ASUS has enabled overclock on its non Z series but that doesn't mean they are designed for it
Case and point is that the voltage regulators on that board have no heat spreader and you are talking about heavily overclocking that chip which will require more power and more waste heat from the regulators. Also I would want a more powerful CPU cooler then the quiet edition with the OC you are aiming for. The VS series is a tier 3 PSU, "not ideal for serious overclocking"

Using your budget and looking for the same type of parts got this one (no extra case fan, Z series mobo, not the best motherboard but should be easier to OC, quick math is an extra £8 from your build, note £2 was on the same SSD which i couldn't find at your price)

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful response. This leaves me with two options, I could either design myself a small form factor PC using the micro ATX format or I could change the pentium for an i3 4330 with a stock cooler or I could try and get a second hand 3rd or 4th generation (non K) i5 from ebay.

I'm leaning towards the second option more because of the appeal of small form factor, but would I be sacrificing any performance versus the pentium with the i3 or with a non overclockable i5?

By the way, I mostly play Civilisation V and the Elder Scrolls Online.
