so i have a fx 8350 and the corner where the arrow is on, is chipped a little bit. i was wondering if my cpu is ok. everything runs fine. i get no crashes. temps are below 50c with my h60.
i was wondering if my cpu is working properly with games. im kinda worried that since my cpu is chipped that's its not performing to its maximum potential in games. i haven't got a single blue screen yet also.

It's running right. If it wasn't, it wouldn't turn on. It's not like a scratch on the top surface of the chip is going to make 2 cores not work or make it run 1ghz less. It just doesn't happen that way. It works or it doesn't. That's like having a scratch on the engine of your car and wondering if it's working right. Does the car go? Yes...
If it was wasn't working, it wouldn't work, period. CPU's don't usually partially work if there is physical damage. If a power trace was broken, it wouldn't turn on. You most likely just damaged the green surface on the top, which is just a coating and since it's on a corner, there are no traces there. It's fine.

not that I know of... if the temps are ok and you are not getting crashes\glitches then it works ok.... as getochkn said, if the part of the cpu\cpu pins is damaged, it basicaly wont work at all
