Why is my Internet momentarily - but regularly - dropping out? I've been facing this issue for MONTHS, and Telstra have managed 0 solutions. Every single day, regardless of whether i'm surfing the web, streaming video, playing online games, checking email, etc... I find my internet connection drops out periodically for a couple of minutes at a time.
I'm on Windows 8.1. When I do a network troubleshoot from the quickbar I either get "problem could not be identified" OR "The Default Gateway is not available". In both cases the internet remains unusable for a few moments and then it just comes back! Telstra technicians have worked on it from my house and the exchange but to no avail. My system specs are as follows:
Windows 8.1
Connecting to the Home Network via an 'EOP' device from Tp-Link.
Modem is Bigpond Technicolor 587nv3
Running Firefox 30.0
CONFIRMED all cables and modem are fully operational
My connection is fine 99% of the time, but when it cuts out I often lose what I was connected to and are forced to restart/refresh/reload/repunchmyself intheface. Any help would be so very appreciated
