I have a pair of regular earphones, and one of the sides just does not work, so I am pretty sure you see where I am going with this, I want to turn on mono audio so I am not missing out on anything that is played out of the other ear..

On smartphones you can do this easily, and I hear a lot of people saying that you can not do it on WIndows 7 or something, but if anybody does know a way, that would be extremely helpful!

There is no way in windows.
Option 1: Splice your cable so both are connected to one driver or try to fix the headphones
Option 2: Buy new headphones

Hope this helps
