Hello!
Lately I have been using my Haswell CPU and I've had it running on all kinds of clocks. stock, 4.0, 4.2, 4.4 and I seem to always get into the 70c-80c range. I think it may just be because of my methods.
I am using Arctic Silver 5 and it recommends to apply the paste according to the die, which is vertically.
Should I listen to them? I've been using pea method because it's "recommended by everyone"
Please help!!!

Apparently in my Asus bios I got it to use around 1.13v but I don't know if I can trust that.
Your temps seem normal.
A common mistake is to use too much tim which will act as an insulator.
It is hard to use too little.
I would use the as5 method, that is the orientation of the actual chip.
Just make it a very thin strip.
Also, AS5 takes time to reach full effectiveness. Perhaps 200 start/stop cycles.

It is the voltage you are running at that determines your heat. Once you go past 1.25v, heat rises dramatically.
The only purpose of liquid coolers is to let you operate in the higher 1.5v+ range which is somewhat dangerous.
How high you can oc at 1.25v is dependent on your luck of the bin.
Golden chips can do 4.5+
Dog chips may only do 4.0.
Sounds like you have an average or below average chip.
