I have an Asus striker 2 extreme pc motherboard when first got it stated fine. But began to have shut down and start up problems. Like not shutting down, screen would go black and fans and lights all still running. Would have to force shutdown by holding the power button down. On start up it wouldn't display the start up screen just a black screen. It did start a few times after switching it on and off a few times, when it did start it would run great till I shut it down and the same problem with shutdown and start up occurred. Now it starts up with no display then switches off about 20 seconds. I cleared the cmos checked the ram with no luck. Any suggestions on what may be causing this problem? It would be greatly appreciated.

In my experience random shut downs are normally due to over heating of a component. Could be the psu overheating.
