Hi all, my parent's internet has always been kind of a hassle to deal with and their ISP is little to no help with any issues. I went over yesterday to take a look at it once again because its not allowing anyone to connect.

First thing it does is pop up a little window saying that the router or network (192.168.2.1) needs your computer credentials and no matter what you enter it'll just pop back up within seconds about 3 times.

Next, when you open up a browser it automatically redirects you to the router ip and gives you instructions on how to connect the router to the computer and what not, but its already connected. It will do that for any website you try and go to. My desktop also says I'm connected with internet access as well as my laptops.

This is the router they are using, it also doubles as a modem. Ever since they got it, it has been nothing but a giant headache

Solution
Sounds like a messed up config on router, as you have one ip range as 192.168.2.1 and the other as 192.168.1.2.

I would do a complete reset of router back to factory defaults, this should put it back to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 and then configure it for your needs.

It will need the default username/password normally found on the bottom of the router.
