I know this topic has probably been beat to death, however I haven't found a definitive answer regarding this. I am currently using G.Skill Trident X series (2x4gb) Ram in my pc build. However, I have been reaching my limit lately, so I am interested in placing two more G.Skill Trident X sticks into my computer (2x8gb). Is mixing two of the same type of ram cause any issues or will it be completely fine? Any assistance would greatly be appreciated!

Some say this is a very bad idea, even if the ram is identical, sometimes pairs do not work together. Others say that this is totally fine. I've never personally had an issue mixing ram and I've had even stranger combinations (such as 4 +1 +1 + 1GB) from different manufacturers. As long as they are the same speed and type, they should be just fine.
