Hello.

Recently I asked here if my computer could run well Guild Wars 2 and someone told me that it should run at 40 FPS. So I bought the game and the game runs poorly, like 10-20 FPS.

I have the exact same problem with other online games like APB reloaded, GUNZ 2, League of Legends, etc. I mean I can run Mass effect 3 at maximum or The Witcher 2 with fairly high settings and I can't run League of Legends smoothly? It's weird :p

Normally the FPS drops when other player come near me.

This are my PC specifications:

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
RAM: 8 GB
OS: WIndows 7 64 bits

Any idea why that could happen?

Thanks.

Well your GPU isn't very powerful your CPU is even worse. Moba and mmo's are very CPU dependant. You might wanna consider Intel for those kinda games

have you installed the latest drivers?

BTW... Expect poor performance with that FX 4100, it's a terrible cpu. (however, you should be getting at least 30 fps)

I suggest upgrading to a FX 6300 or FX 8320 when you can.

I don't know very well how to upgrade my computer so I usually asked this sort of things to a computer technician that work where I usually buy hardware and he told me that to upgrade my CPU I have to upgrade my motherboard aswell.

I Forgot to mention my motherboard model, It's an Asrock N68-VS3 FX.

Is it really necessary to change the motherboard?

It says it does support 8 core cpus, however it just says "8 core" cpu on Asrocks website. So I don't know if you can only use the older bulldozer octo core cpus (FX 81xx) or the newer piledriver octo core cpus (FX 83xx).

I would go with what your tech says, since I don't know that mobo and it supports the AMD Phenom cpus which means it's a really old motherboard.

It sounds like your technician wants you to spend more money

That's what I feared :(

So is there a lot of difference between the FX 6300 and the FX 8320?

The 8320 is quite better and more future proof then then 6300 but the 6300 isn't terrible either
