I'm going to be buying a laptop soon from originpc and I'm getting two storage drives a 120 GB SSD and a 1TB HDD drive. My question is what drive should i install my OS windows 8.1 on to.

Solution
Install OS and your most used Programs to the SSD and use the hard drive for personal files(documents, media files, etc).

SSD will significantly help boot speeds compared to a HDD, the radically faster random read and write speeds will also make a noticeable improvement to general computer use, such as when loading programs (if they are installed on the SSD), general multitasking, and writing to the page file (if enabled)
