Stress test doesn't crash but game does?

I'm OC my R7 260X, and using a stress gpu test to test it out. It worked great, but when I go to play (bf3) it crashes.

Is this possible? If so, is there a test that crashes like the game (kinda weird to ask, but yes). I'm using furmark

sometime the game is more stressful on certain parts than syntheics can be

also maybe there is a driver issue causing crash

I'm stable in all my games except world of tanks using the new engine though BF3 shouldn't have any issues

reduce the overclock on it and try again to see how it goes .

Yeah. I OC' it to 1300MHz and the memory to 1686 with +7%power. Is it good? I still need to check the max core speed, and then test everything again with the memory

the gpu overclock run her hotter then you play game that ask more power so she could be cutting from overheathing so reduce the gpu overclock to normal settinngs then try the game after redo the overclock a notch at the time until it cut off .

o. it won't pass 69C with the stress test. And when I'm playing bf3 not OC it stays at 60. OC is 74 for the stress test, and same for bf3

74 degrees is quite high for gaming. My OC'd R9 270X never goes above 60 degrees when playing any game. Try lowering your voltage or over clock and see what happens.

i meant 63 when gaming. 74 with the stress test. going to work on lowering the voltage now

this will help reduce your temp try with the factory voltage and use the amd ccc to ajust the clock speed on the gpu and memory clock try the auto ajust settings .
