GPU fan stops spinning after windows loads.

GTX msi 670 is my gpu my mobo is gigabyte 970a ud3
PSU is corsair cx600 my process is an amd phenom
basicalyl everything else works I upgraded my psu for my new GPU, the fan will run but when i load windows up it stops. Although using msi afterburner the fan can force its self to 100% (i suppose since the rpm goes up to 5.1k)

Any solutions?

If the fan works, but chooses not to, it sounds like a problem with the drivers or a program with the ability to control fan speeds. Did you have another card in the computer before and if so did you completely uninstall and clean the drivers out before installing new drivers? Do you have multiple monitoring/adjusting programs running?

I did have a card before and i uninstalled the drivers not sure if it did it all but ill check and try uninstalling again.

You need to uninstall them and preferably use a program to clean them out completely like Driver Sweeper especially if you are switching from AMD to Nvidia or Nvidia to AMD.

Can you just create a custom profile in Afterburner for it or does it only turn on if you peg it at 100%?

Unless I don't know how to use afterburner, nope it only some how gets to 100%

Go to "settings", then "fan", then check "enable user defined settings" and it will let you build the graph of what % the fan is on at each temp.

I read your original post to mean that you were able to make it run at 100% with Afterburner.

On afterburner when i click things for some reason it will only go to 100% but if i try to adjust it to anything else it will either stop again or stay at 100%

I'm completely out of ideas other than something being wrong with the card. Maybe this bump will get some ideas from others.

Perhaps it is this? http://imagebin.ca/v/1SCciQdz7qXK I use Nvidia control panel and went to performance and it seems like the gpu isn't getting information from the mobo I'm unsure if that would cause the fan to stop spinng though.. also using msi live update 6 it says i should install my motherboards amd chipset drivers
