im planing to install windows home server 2011 or windows 7 ultmate (oem) om my dell pc and then have it run a vm till it dies (im done with it anyways since i got my new rig running) and was wondering if this is a good idea? i have dropped the cash and put a 60gb ssd in it

but i need to know if it will all fit :/ comparability is not an issue

i plan to install two vm's and run one at a time (windows xp, ubuntu 14.04) and then stream apps and software over the network using something like teamviewer 9 or splashtop 2 as the performance of splashtop is extreme (ive played skyrim over splashtop on a 3g connection withjout any lag) and of course teamviewer 9 will allow single aps to be shared to the other pc's in my house (cheap mans program shareing and parallels alternative) so far ive had great successes but i want to know more when it comes to this setup . i want to also use the windows xp vm to package software using vmware thinapp as the vm software vmware workstation has amazing usability and support for vmware thinapp packaging and the most advance form of support and such. i normally package all my normal day to day apps with the server and run them as needed

60GB is too small. You're trying to run 3 different OS's.
Host of HomeServer2011 or Win7, and then VMs of XP and Ubuntu.

Can it it be done? Yes, if you like spending all your time dicking around with free space on each OS, and the host SSD.

As said initially...yes, it is possible. If you like messing around with free space all the time.
Personally, I like using the system, rather than managing the system.

would installing it onto the nas allow for the os's to be run 24/7 without causing to much dammage to the nas drives? there WD RED 2TB drives in a ready nas duo 2 bay :) i get on avg 220mb\s upload 210mb/s download so would this be enough to run the system and the vm's off??
