Hello,

I recently put together my PC and I'm noticing that either after a cold boot or if I plug my devices into different USB ports, my computer boots for a couple seconds then restarts into windows. I read on the ASUS forums that this is a normal occurrence if you're overclocking a CPU, but mine are still at stock speeds. I updated my bios and it restarted at post about 4 times before it actually booted into windows. I also changed a bios setting under the "APM" to "Power on by PCIe" as this was a potential fix for the P8P67 series motherboards that had this issue. My cpu temps are ranging from 35-38c during idle to 45-60c during gaming, so I'm not sure if its an overheating issue. I guess my question is if this is normal for ASUS boards? I had a gigabyte board before this upgrade and it never restarted during the bios update or when plugging devices into different USB ports. After the 2nd restart everything appears to be fine, but I'm just afraid that during these restarts it might potentially damage my hardware if it isn't already.

Thanks!

What happens is after I power on the system it will turn on for a couple seconds then restart then load into windows. So basically double posting, with the 2nd post actually going through into windows.
