i plan to do things like

gaming

media rendering

steam source editing (HL2, GMOD, AND OTHERS)

running vmware workstation (vms inc- windows 7, windows 8, windows xp pro service pack 3, windows home server 2011, windows home server 2003, Ubuntu from first to latest depending on what i need at the time, Debian latest only, steam os, i have a legal copy of my mac book pro (now dead) on a vmware image (not hacked in any way or form was made using a drive clone tool for mac just simple copy and paste can not be run as an os only as a data source), and last of all i run vmware thinapp on the viurtal copy of windows xp pro sp3 as it adds in a copy of IE6 from the box, plus i do my tafe study on this pc such as running cisco and novell software and such)

i have a number of factors at play its currently 33c here

my cpu in my current pc is always 33c - 55c under load

without load its dropped as far as 22c running 24/7/365

i can and most likely will offload a lot of data and stuff to a network attached storage (nas)

the system will never be shut down

here are some specs

4th Generation Intel Core i5 4440
'Haswell' 22nm Quad-Core 3.10GHz / 3.3GHz Turbo
Intel HD Graphics 4600
12GB RAM
1000GB Hard Drive WD BLACK
gtx 650 ti 1gb ddr5 (asus)

SIDE NOTE: THIS SYSTEM WILL NEVER BE OVER CLOCKED (EVER)

55C max temp isn't that bad, seems ok to me for now with stock cooler. I would be concerned in buying aftermarket cooler when my the temps start rising above 60C. Till then u r good with your system.
The time it start hitting 60C i would recommend system clean for dust n then recheck the temps for next step. Good luck :)

Well it comes with standards in the manual but unless you are going to be overclocking than i see no need to wast money on a cooler but here is a really good model at a cheap price that will keep it icy cold for all of your needed tasks.
