Video card cooler question

This may be a really, really dumb question, but would it be possible to change out a video card's cooler with a cooler from a different card?
I mean, if the cooler fit on the different video card, could there be any other issues?

There are kits to replace coolers for certain cards, but often times those are for water-blocks. The mounting system for different cards tends to be different, and would require a lot of messing, drilling, and other stuff you don't want to do with your lovely GPU. Thats not to say it hasn't been done though. There are kits and people who have even put CPU coolers on their GPUs.
