M3A78-EM ( motherboard ) yes its old lol !!

will a Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2GB be compatible?

upgrading my old Gpu :) 

My specs
Win 7
AMD phenom X4 9850 2.5 ( yes it sucks but will upgrde it)
6gb ram
600watts
ASUStek M3a78-EM (motherboard )

It has a PCIe 16x slot, so yes, it will work. Although I believe it is a PCIe 1.0 slot, so your card's performance may be slowed down a bit.
