Alright, so I am having trouble figuring out why I am lagging. When I play with everything on very high in DayZ I see 100% gpu usage and 3 cores at around 80% with the others in the teens. Getting like 22 fps, not recording (didn't even try recording). When I switch everything to very low I see about 50% gpu usage and 3 cores around 50-60% usage with the others doing nothing really. Getting about 40-50 fps, and sometimes dipping down to 20 or below for long periods of time. When I start recording it won't go over 31 fps dipping to 25 quite frequently, still with the usage of the gpu and cpu at the same as it was while not recording. It's like it's not trying to use the full potential of the hardware. I have tried Mirillis Action and Fraps, and they both do the same. I just don't see the bottleneck. If anyone has any idea, please feel free to share, thank you. P.S.- I know I need to get a new gpu, will be getting a R9280 in the coming months.

Solution
Probably crap optimization

sometimes, task manager will split the workload between cores so even if it looks like a core isn;t maxed out, it can be (2x 50% may actually mean the process is single core optizmed and bottlenecked but looks like it's spread over two cores. In reality the two cores are just taking turns)

But it wasn't at 100% when I was recording on very low, and I was still lagging. It's weird, every Bohemia Interactive game I have (Arma 2 combined operations and DayZ) lag without using the full speed of my hardware. Thanks for the answer!

You have a single channel 8 GB RAM at 1600 it's slower than a dual channel 8 GB of same speed , but nevertheless, Dayz is infamous for poor optimization and even very high end graphic cards have a tough time maxing it out on 60fps , also being old, it is incapable of using all cores of fx 6300 , and an Intel counterpart processor just might had performed a little better !!
