So I've got my desktop for quite some time now. And it has been working fine but recently i dog went and damaged my ethernet cable so i replaced it, but ever since I replaced it I have noticed that my my desktop shows "no internet access"

The cable is working as I tested it on my laptop. my router also seem to not be detecting the connection from my desktop as the light is not blinking. Does anyone know why this is happening?

The port was probably damaged when it was forced out. To make sure try pinging your router's IP. This can usually be found on the router.

If it really is damaged you will have to purchase a separate Ethernet card.

im not sure if my ethernet port is broken because I just downloaded the LAN driver and instead of the internet icon on the taskbar showing a triangle with the ! on the inside, this time it's just an X. when i trouble shoot now it say 1. the might be a problem with the driver for the hamachi adapter and 2. a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken.

does anyone know what does the different blinks of the green/orange mean on my modem/router? when i connect it to my desktop, it blinks green for a short while once every 10secs or so and sometimes my desktop network icon on my task bar will show that its refreshing for a short while then go back to the Cross.

Is there anything I can do to show you guys if there's anything wrong with my desktop internet connection?

You're going to have to look up what those blinks mean. There are too many different router/modems out there and there's no standard on the blink/color pattern.

If you can try connecting your laptop by Ethernet through the same cable and port that you do on your desktop. This to make sure that your router isn't the issue.

You need to give us your motherboard make and model and the router make and model. As said - they all differ.
