I am trying to run my DVI monitor and my HDMI TV on a Galaxy GeForce GT 610 that has 1 DVI and HDMI ports. What is happening is if I plug both cables in neither of the displays will work but if I pull one of the cables out with the other still attached whichever device was left plugged in works fine. Can this video card work with both cables attached? If so, how do I get it to start operating correctly? My system has an Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor, 3.00 GB of RAM, and a 300W power supply (replacing with a 550W) and an OS that is Windows 8.1.

Solution
You may have to hold the Windows Key and press P repeatedly. Select either Duplicate or Extend. Or right click on the desktop and go to resolution.

The card should be perfectly capable of it.

I believe you might have run into the issue with low end cards. There are video heads on a card that support video outputs. For instance, my 7870 has two video heads, but four video outputs. If you want more than two outputs, you need to have an active adapter that functions as another video head. I checked the specs and some forums, but I can't confirm if this is the case for the gt610 (which most likely has one video head since it has 2 outputs). Since the card is so low end, you might as well use the integrated to power the second monitor. If you need help doing that, just message me.

I stand corrected, checking some forums it does have two heads, but still not three. I would go with what the other people have said and check the screen resolution area to see if both monitors are being detected and see if you can enable them both from there.
