So,

I'm looking to build another computer but I don't know what PSU I need! Newegg's PSU calculator says that I need 900W but I'm not sure.

Here's the proposed build.

AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor

Asus M5A97 R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard

Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler

BitFenix Neos ATX Tower Black/Red

Arctic F12 Case Fan - 120mm X2

TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit

MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming Edition OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache WD10EZEX - OEM ** Single Platter **
HDD

OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM

Any help will be appreciated!

You totally don't need 900 watts for you're build, a 550-750 Seasonic or antec PSU Will power you're build fine.

Oh wow, that's crazy. Your system will not even pull half of that. A quality 400W PSU will do but I would recommend at least 550W for upgradability purposes.

On a side note, your motherboard does not support 2400 MHz RAM so you will have to downclock it if you want them. Also, if you plan on CrossFireX, that motherboard won't handle it well at x16/x4 configuration. But for a single card, it'll be fine. So a quality 550W power supply will be good.

My recommendation - XFX TS 550W
