So as the heading says I recently bought a new graphics card to replace my old one, after installing and powering on the system runs as normal but there is no display! All the windows start up sounds pop up as usual, everything is the same besides that there is no display!
Oh and the fans went full blast for some odd reason but that's pretty normal for my piece of junk :)
My PC is a Dell Precision 490 which I'm not planning on replacing even though it is a piece of junk. The graphics card fan also spins too.
Below are all the specs & shit:
CPU – Intel Xeon E5345 @ 2.33 GHz
Ram – 16 GB DDR2
GPU – Nvidia Quadro Fx 3500

I bought the Gainward GTX 750 which was priced around $115
I read ALOT of forums on this problem and they didn't really help much. I can't disable onboard graphics either because I don't have any haha.
The only reason I could think of is that on my Dell Precision 490 manual or whatever they call it the Dell Precision could only support 512 MB cards, but I read that that was what the manufacturer recommended but it wasn't actually... a must.
I can't return it either as the store doesn't accept that :(
I've tried connecting through VGA and DVI but both were the same result, I would also try the HDMI but I don't have a clue about the mini HDMI port and it would probably be the same result anyways.

*Meaningless rant time*
Before buying the graphics card I KNEW something would go wrong, whether it'd be in the process of buying, setting up, or even on the way home!
And guess what, yep, no need to even jinx myself by believing in my fate. It's like there just HAS to be an obstacle to every single thing I do.
Oh and you don't know how horrible I felt after it ended up not working, I had dreamt about finally upgrading from my shit graphics card for a whole year and when I finally convinced my dad to buy it (I'm 14), IT DOESNT WORK.
Whew, that was nice to get off my chest :)
Ok, thank you for reading this whole entire thing, hope someone can help me :)

Oh my god haha why am I so stupid thanks I'll update it now and install the graphics card tomorrow.
I'll get back to you when It hopefully works! (probably not now that I've jinxed myself)

There's a good chance it'll fix it. 2010 is when the newer cards started not working with older boards, so if it hasn't been updated since then there's a good chance that's it. Good luck and if you still have problems, just respond again.

So after updating the BIOS my hopes were extremely high, and finally after getting the free time to install the graphics card, guess what happened? ... It didn't work! ;(
Well thanks anyways :) Would you have any other suggestions or is my problem a 'one of a kind'?

I believe it flashed the CMOS automatically when it rebooted. Everything runs perfectly when I turn it on, the graphics card fan runs and all the windows boot up sounds are heard too. But there is no signal to the monitor, I tried different monitors and outputs as well.
Though I have no idea what CMOS is so ill go do a bit of research now :p

did you plug the video cable into the video output of the video card, becouse the video card overrides output directly from the motherboard.
