Not sure which graphics card would best suit my needs?

I'm looking to get a brand new pc set up within the next few months and I need some help choosing which graphics card would be best suited for my needs. I really want to be able to play a heavily modded skyrim and future games like dragon age 3 and rise of the tomb raider all on ultra.

I can pretty much afford a gtx 780ti in sli but I am worried about the 3gb vram and I'm not even sure I would need two. I'm only going to be playing on one monitor and most likely at 1920x1080 (possibly 1440p at the most). I've been doing some research and many people say that to run a heavily modded skyrim you would probably need over 3gb of vram. My dream card would be the 780ti 6gb but I don't know when that is due (if ever).

So my options are:
780ti sli (or just single)
780 6gb
770 sli (or just single)

(Also my processor, in case that is necessary: Intel Core i7 4790K overclocked to 4.6GHz)

yeah in all honesty none of those games requires anything near what he has those games will all run on a dual core e6850 3.0ghz with a radeon hd 6870 and 4gb of ram ...
I think hes worried that because of the excessive amount of mods he may be running that he will need more Vram which seems unlikely ... as you can max those games out at 1080p on a 1gb card

(I have experience in this I am a gamer and I also own a computer business that specializes in building gaming computers. everything from budget to extreme around the personal needs of the gamer/video editor etc.)

So we spend alot of time testing different configurations based around price/performance ratios to find the best deals for our customers.

The fact is that a radeon Hd...

Most games dont't intialize that much Vram, and you are most likely ok with much lower grade cards even, I have seen skyrim maxed out at 1080p with a radeon HD 6870, even heavily modded most likely 2gbs Vram is probably excessive.

The fact is that a radeon Hd 7870 or newer gen 270x (you can get a 4gb model for 209$) would most likely be more than sufficient a 670, 760 (a 4gb model will run you 300ish$) etc those would all be more than capable.

Hope this helps have a great day.

We do that to we just Bin chips just like Intel or AMD Its fairly common practice. if you buy from somewhere like originpc or puegeotsystems, (I dont know for a fact they do but its what we do so I would assume so.) also when you use high quality components reaching a 16% overclock is almost always feasible.

its just common practice to only advertise a overclock that you can reach with most any chip, if we find a chip that doesn't overclock we eBay it voila sells for at least as much as we paid for it.

something he should consider is the additional cost of power supply for things like sli 780ti is excessive to say the least. a 900w plus would be my suggestion to avoid issues with capacitor aging etc later on down the line. Although a 800 might suffice depending on the number of peripherals

ok I don't care just thought it was a big statement on something not built just because it sooo good for you today don't mean it is for him a month from now on another system. binned means nothing to me until I got it running that way here today not on some jacklegs say so [as in when I see it I believe it]

Thanks for all the answers guys! I think I'm going to go for a 770 4gb that way I'm not paying excessively for something I don't need and I still have the sort of vram I want. ([strike]Though once the 800 series releases I'll probably wish I had the 880 and two more monitors.[/strike] although doing some more research the 880 seems more geared towards 1080p/1440p gaming so I might wait for that)
