hello. this is my first thread in this forum and i hope find a solution of my problem.
My pc components are :
1- MB : ASUS CROSSHAIR V FORMULA ( NO -Z ) BIOS (1703 )
2- CPU : FX 8350 @ 4.6 GHZ @ 1.39 V.
3- COOLER : COOLER MASTER HYPER 212. TEMPS ARE FINE ( 55-66 ON STRESS )
4- VGA : NVIDIA GTX 760.
5- PSU : COOLER MASTER GX 650 watt.
After having my cpu stable at 4.6 i wanted to reach 4.7 but the thing is while i am running prime 95 or linx pack the computer shuts off completely at this frequency ( 4.7 ghz ) after a minute so in the asus ai suite 2 i made the option ( cpu over current protection ) to disable and began to stress the cpu once again it shut off ! i have disabled all power issues such turbo core, c6 state and apm then the same thing occurred . i doubt that is from psu or should i buy a new one and connect the extra 4- pins in the board ? can anyone help me ?

Yep - my bad - it was the 450W version only on Tier 2b

So berockm, put a better power supply on your shopping list and knock off any overclocking till you get one. eg Seasonic 520, XFX 550 or Antyec HCG 520M.

Then go back to overclocking - but also read up about it more beforehand.

Have you given more Voltage to the CPU when you put it to 4.7 Ghz?

If the pc shuts down using Prime 95 when your trying to overclock, that means you have gone too far in your overclock. You need to reset the overclock back to the last step where Prime 95 did not cause a shutdown.

You need to go through how they did it here - http://rog.asus.com/216552013/crosshair-motherboards/guide-overclocking-fx-8350-to-4-8ghz-on-crosshair-v-formula-z/

Tier four - Not for overclocking systems or high end gaming rigs. May not even output labeled power and fail standard ATX specifications slightly. May even use cheap components to meet a price

Aerocool
Strike-X series
Templarius Imperator series

Asus Atlas
Cooler Master GX / GX lite series (The GX 450 non-lite Watt model is fine)
E-power units

Seems Tier 4- not recommended.
