I have an i3 540 @ stock speed on a gigabyte h55m s2v mobo with 4 gb 1333 mhz ram. In the next few days i plan on geting another 4 gigs and a 260x. I want to know will my cpu botleneck the gpu and if so can i overclock such a low end cpu and mobo and to what degre? I dont want high tempratures so should i buy a 7$ deep cool theta 115 cooler or do i need a 20$ rajintek rea heatsink? I guess i would not go a lot over 4ghz.

You need a better cooler, thats too hot. Even a cheap cooler will manage 3.8Ghz no problem.

It will not bottleneck the Graphics card.
Also, you cannot overclock a i3 or any Motherboard that is not a Z series.

Nevermind i already overclocked it from 3.06 to 3.33ghz but temperatures have risen to almost 80 °C. Is that safe and what cooler do i get? Also where do you adjust the voltage on h55m's? I found dynamic vcore, but im not sure do i up that or must i find vcore?

Incorrect. First gen I3 can be overclocked very well. I have a i3 540 running 4Ghz on a h55 motherboard.

To the OP, yes go for it, you can get lots more performance out of the i3 540 by overclocking, they usually overclock very well.
