Hi, I bought a new motherboard yesterday. P5n-e sli and put it all together but my monitor didn't get a signal from my graphics Card. All connections etc were correct and when booting the motherboard Came on and graphics card fans started working.

Just my monitor wasn't connecting, I even tried my other 2 graphic cards just to make sure and still it didn't turn blue on the monitor.

My graphics card is running through pciexpress port.

Any help would be great

Only thing I can think of is that my hard drive will have windows 7 setup for the amd board that I used previous, but I'm still using the same graphics card. I just needed to change Processer.

Many thanks Richard

Hi. You will need to get a new OS system with that Motherboard change. You can try a reinstall, but doubt that you will get much. OEM Operating systems are designed to stay with the computer it was iunstalled in. When you changed Motherboards, it saw a whol new computer ( didn't match the profile in the BiOS ).

Just tried booting up with clean formatted harddrive and monitor turns on for about 4 seconds and still nothing. Could it be a faulty pciexpress port?

Do you get a signal if you use onboard graphics?

Hi, no signal even with onboard graphics. The monitor lights up blue for about 3 seconds and then goes into sleep mode.

Does it boot with a windows cd at all? It sounds like you may need to RMA the motherboard

this is another post i had because they sent me another motherboard but my computer is the same but with more ram etc.

recently i bought a p5ne sli asus motherboard and thought it was faulty. i put it down to the pci express port not working as my monitor couldn't get a connection using any of the leads or ports.

my old system was a

R690A-M2T MOTHERBOARD
RAM= 2 slots 1gb pc2-5300 64x8, 240 pin, dimm, DDR2 667 ccl value ram
RAM= 2 slots cm2x1024-5400 c4, 1.9v ver7.1 (44412, 675mhz, 1024mb, xm52-5400 corsair
Graphics card either geforce 450 gts
or amd radeon R7 200 series
550 fatality professional power supply

so i asked for another motherboard and they sent me a Intel® Desktop Board DQ45CB which would accept both my graphics card, new quad core q6600 intel processor and my ram.
so when i put it all together and booted the system i was amazed that once again the monitor was not getting a connection. keeps saying check signal on monitor.

i have tried different connectors etc, a clean Hard drive that had been formatted, new battery for bios. But none of these made a difference. it cant be a second faulty motherboard can it?

from what i looked at it all accepts the new system...

any help would be great as I'm totally lost now.

many thanks Richard

The only other thing I can suggest is try it with just one stick of ram in it, but everything else that I would suggest has already been tried...

Hi guys, thanks for all the reply's, i have finally sorted the motherboard out. They sent another one and it worked straight away so it must of been a faulty motherboard.

however i do i have a small problem with a red light that stays on whilst the motherboard is powered up. when starting it has 1 short beep and then continues to load my windows 7 to desktop.

if anyone could help that would be great
