I have a much loved Mesh matrix 64 which I have had for many years. Just about everything has been replaced/upgraded over the years. Sadly now it looks like the MOBO has died (ASUS K8V) because my 2yr old likes pressing the power button

I'd like to get a more modern board if possible but hang on to the bits ... AMD Athlon 64 and the DDR-RAM.

All the Socket 754 boards seem to limit me to 2-3GBytes of RAM which is a little puny nowadays.

Any suggestions? Am I stuck with only limited RAM?

Where would you even find S754 boards? The CPUs are 64bit capable, but they are limited to DDR1 and usually only three slots. This means 3x1GB, or 3GBs total. If they even made 2GB DDR1 sticks, expect to pay a ton for them. Honestly, I'd just get a newer system.
