Hey,

I just made an account on this after i found myself wondering about what i can run on my future gaming build, I'm 13 years old so I can't go very high on price so here are the specs:

CPU: AMD FX-6300
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) Memory DDR3 1600 MHz
Graphics Card: Sapphire Toxic R9 280X
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

I'm looking at new games like Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4 and 3, Just Cause 2, Gta V (for when it comes out in Autumn), And Crysis 3

Many Thanks,

Dan

I would recommend getting a less powerful power supply and going for a higher quality brand like corsair.
600w would be the max you should ever need (as long as it has a single 12v rail), even if you throw in another 280x it should handle it well.

I would recommend the Corsair CX600

hi gman9669

I am going for a 750 watt because that's the recommended power supply for my amd r9 280x, but would I notice a difference, because now iv'e got a 240 watt power supply in my hp dc7600 that is running a geforce gt 430 witch has a recommended 300 watts and I'm getting problems with it like flickering screens, but you probably know more than me so any advice on the power supply's would be appreciated

thanks

It seems that although a higher wattage may be recommended, the card will only ever use a maximum of 250w at a time.

Personally I would go with the 600w

Although in the end your piece of mind is what's important. So for that reason I would suggest going with the 750w as although it may run slightly louder and less efficiently than the Corsair you won't need to worry about not having enough juice :)

An excellent power supply. A bit overkill, but a very good quality power supply.

No! Corsair CX line are low-end power supplies with poor capacitors. It does not handle high load well and will cause ripples. Should never be used in high-end computers, especially in high-end gaming rigs.

Well, I am actually really interested in this stuff. I bought this PC recently:

When I was making the decision of buying this pc I was comparing specs and everything. I found out that this is a good PC for £700. I can basically run any game on ultra and some of the newer releases on Medium. I don't know your price range but I got help from some of my PC expert friends.

All my specs are in the link. Also, I had to get the wireless detector from my old PC and put it inside, I didn't have wireless then and I couldn't use an ethernet cable.
