Lan card malfunctioning.

I have a gigabyte g41m-combo and recently purchased. My ISP guy fixed a broadband connection and found that the lan was not working. So i changed it to my original g31m-es2l. Anyone can give me suggestions on how to fix it since its quite new and lan was not at all used.

Well that is not a lot of info to go on. Did it work at all, was it seen by the os, was it intermittent, bad speed, drivers? What did device manger say about it? you may have to go back to it for any help.

Since the isp guy ws in a hurry so i did not bother to check intensively. But the lan was not detected by the os or by the modem. Could it be drivers?

If the drivers were not installed, It would be seen in device manager as with a warning or something to that effect but would not work.
