Hi all.

So i've just installed a new sound card in my pc.
It's a Creative sound blaster Audigy Fx.
All the latest drivers are on there. All the old ones of.
Disables onboard soundcard in MOBO BIOS. Tried changing between front and rear jacks. still no change. Tried with multiple headsets.

Never had the problem before, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, Adam

PS : Win 7 pro 64bit

You've put your audio cables into the sound card, right? (only asking this since you mentioned trying front and rear).

Is there a lot of white noise at low volumes or just at higher volumes? You'll get some white noise at higher volumes anyway, it can't be prevented.

Hello... 1) Try another PCI slot farthest away from your Power supply/Video card.
2) if you don't have the same problem ( noise ) while using the On-Board sound and same headphones/cables? then return your purchase.

Hello... I don't feel the audigy to be better at this point in time... I just dumpster'd a few of them the other day...
But I mean to say you may have got a Bad Card, try another one... you should not hear noticable white noise change between on-board and Pci cards... when using the same headphones or cables.
What On-board model audio chip do you have now?

Hello... The realtek ALC892 is a great audio chip, but requires a good CPU for Co-processing.

I have a ln i5 2500k @4.8Ghz
And a Gtx 660Ti OC'd.
Computing power is not the problem!

I don't think the Audigy is even supported any more. I think that's the problem here. And yes, the higher end Realtek chips are probably better then the Audigy line at this point.
