I turn on my desktop computer and it starts for a second with the fans then stops. The mother board has a steady orange light on it. I tried a new larger power supply and and had the same issues. I unplugged all components and replugged them in and still nothing. I ruled out the power supply, connections....any further suggestions? I'm thinking in may be the motherboard or the chip not cooling properly, but have a lot of fans in the case (6) and have have a coolant fan in there as well...so thinking that the motherboard might need replaced and rebuilt. Any suggestions would be great!! :)

Crucially, you failed to post make & model of motherboard. This may be important in relation to what the solid amber light means.
Most of the searches on that come back as referring to Dell motherboards - is yours one of those?

Since you've changed the PSU it can't be that.

Next up as a possible is bad RAM. This should invoke a series of beeps but on Dell's it has been known for them to have bad RAM yet give no warning beeps at all, just a solid amber light and failure to boot.

Sorry about that...its an EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 motherboard. Its a built desktop computer. The RAM is new. Didn't think it would be that...or could it? The powersupply is a Thermaltake 650w Toughpower. Its not a Dell.
