Yay! another "Is this temp ok" thread, bet you're thrilled haha. Just kidding :)
I searched the forums first about this issue but i've hit a snag that's still leaving me confused.

On other posts, people say anything over 60c is dangerous and other people say that intel 2nd gen i5 are ok until they hit more than 80c. So I'm really confused who to believe here and i don't want to risk frying my CPU.

I've had this cpu for roughly 2 years now under the stock cooler. I was hitting 50c under load so i cranked it up to 4.2Ghz Speed and it was running at 70c underload ever since on stock cooler which was amazing. I never looked at the temps since then until recently. I looked and i was like OMG temps was at 85c. So under panic I rushed out and bought a evo 212 since i heard it was amazing for it's price(which it is). After installing it, i was hitting 65c under load @4.2 Ghz.

Because of the cooler i decided to crank it up to 4.5Ghz and it's running stable. But the temps are hitting 75c sometimes now, and i'm a little worried if that's ok or not.

If any of you can clarify my confusion of what temps are ok, please let me know.
Thanks for any help you can provide, and if you need more info from me just ask. :)

-Temps monitored using Real Temp and CPUID HWMonitor (Both give me same results)
-This is my first CPU i've ever overclocked too.

You should be fine. I think the intel 3rd gen cpus can hit up to around 90c before its a bit worrisome. Someone can correct me on that.

75C is fine for an intel chip though. 60c is generally a rule for AMD chips as far as I know.

Thanks for the replys! I'll leave my cpu as it stands then. If temps get any higher than 75c then i will lower my cpu speed down a notch or two. Thank you for clarifying my confusion. :)
