This is a pci wireless card that was just working a couple days ago when suddenly my signal strength dropped down to 1-2 bars. At this signal strength it struggled to load web pages even though it was claiming to receive the full 54 mbps from the router. Eventually the stress of trying to access the internet would drop the connection. However, instead of simply being unable to connect, it also lost the ability to detect networks. But even though it cannot detect any networks windows is aware that it is connected and enabled. I also just found some recent Atheros drivers for it and installed them to no avail. Why does everything I own stop working for no reason? Am I going to be forced to replace it even though it should be working fine?

Even if it does connect, my internet speed takes a huge hit. The computer I'm on now it getting 13+ mbps download speed while the one with the issue only gets .38mpbs. While the upload speed hit is only about 1mpbs rather than the huge 13mbps difference of the download speed. This is with 3 signal bars which was usual and getting 54mpbs from the router as it should.
