Upgrading i7 3770 to 4770k or higher worth it?

Hey guys, my PC is in need of a major upgrade, I use my PC mostly for gaming and video rendering, and here's the deal:

Current setup:
i7-3770
8GB RAM
XFX R7770

Thinking about upgrading it to:
i7-4770k or higher
32GB RAM
GTX780TI

I'm assuming that if I buy a 4770k, I'd need a new MB (which also enables the 32GB RAM that I like), it's gonna cost probably about another $800 to make this happen, so I guess I'll have to make the decision based on the amount of improvement I get by replacing the 3770 with 4770k and adding an extra 16GB of RAM. What do ya guys think?

Much thanks in advance!

I'd put more money into the GPU and maybe RAM if you want. The 3770 is still a very good CPU. Unless you want to overclock, no need to upgrade.

16gb of RAM is enough for rendering I'd imagine, you can go with 32 if you want, but it's not necessary.

As for GPU, a 780Ti is pretty expensive, an r9 290 with a good reference cooler is cheaper and performs better than a GTX 780 (non Ti), but doesn't perform as well as the 780Ti. it's still a good card, and has more vRAM for higher texture games and what not. Of course if you have money, go for the 780Ti, but I don't think its worth it unless you're using 3 monitors all for gaming.

Upgrading to a 4770k? not so worth. To a 4790k? same price than the 4770k, higher base clock speed of 4Ghz and better overclocking capabilities with air, yes.

I'd wait the intel 5th gen series.
