Hi folks, I really have two questions today

1-If a computer case has one or more USB 3 ports on the front panel, where would that connect to on the motherboard ? What kind of connector do we have for this ?

2-I have seen a video on youtube displaying a computer case supporting 1 USB 3 on the front panel and the girl displaying the case showed a USB 3 wire, just like we have on a USB 3 flashdrive. Where would that connect to on the motherboard ?

Not a computer expert (very far from it) but that seems strange to me.

Thank You

1. The mobo has to have a usb3 socket for the front panel connector to plug into. It's a 20 pin socket and is blue. If the mobo doesn't have support a adapter can be use to plug the front connector into a usb2 socket. If this is done the front usb3 will funtion as a usb2.
2. The front usb3 connectors that look like a regular usb plugs are design to go into the and then out of the case to the mobo usb3 plug in the back of the case.
USB3 ports will be on the motherboard, they are larger and usually that light blue colour. You can only connect them to a motherboard that supports USB3.
If the case has 2 USB 3 ports, and your board only has 1, you can only connect one.
