With only one fan use it in pull setup rad>fan, you use it as an exhaust but instead of blowing the hot air from the inside of the case, you suck the heat from the rad. Using push setup is only effective if using the fan as intake for fresh air to the inside of the case, but that increases the internal temperatures on the other components.

depends the direction of the airflow, is it blowing air to the outside or inside of the case?

Having it pull air through allows you to clean it better, while having it push air through it can give you a degree or so better. I prefer pull, because I would rather be able to clean my rad easier than having a degree more.

Also, if your fan is not 4 pin, then go into your bios, and set your CPU fan to a lower speed.
