Is this motherboard overkill for my needs ?

I was thinking about possibly buying this motherboard for a new PC build that I will do soon. I know that this is a nice motherboard (GIGABYTE GA-H97-D3H LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard) but I am wondering if this is not overkill for my needs.

I want some USB 3 on my case front panel and 4-6 on the back of the PC. I want to be able to use 6gb/s speed devices (do not want to go back to slower 6gb/s).

Could you people make a few suggestions for high quality mobo without going overkill ? I insist on high quality.

My PC will NOT be used USED for gaming. it is a PC for day to day use (Internet-email-MS office-burning cd"s/dvd's--watching movies, youtube videos etc...) General stuff. However, I am planning on leaving it powered on 24/7 365 days a year.

Suggestions please ?

Thank You

It is pretty overkill for just a basic use computer.

There are much cheaper boards with USB3 headers and 6 or more rear USB ports. Also, any board made today supports 6gb/s.
