Hello everyone, I recently had a fan die on my MSI Twin Frozr GTX 760, and had it RMA'd, even though one fan had stopped working, the GPU still stayed cool (mid 60's playing BF4, Archeage, etc). I received my new card and put it into my system, and playing those same games, with the same fan speeds and everything else, the card will bump up to 80c+ regardless of the fan speed I set. Im wondering if I should Contact MSI again, or try redoing the thermal paste on the GPU itself. Also the GPU idles around 40-45c. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I ended up redoing the thermal paste on the GPU, and that has set the temperatures back to "normal" ranges. I would like to note I used Artic Silver 5 (very carefully) and ALL screws on the GPU were incredibly loose. Running Furmark for 15 minutes at the 1080p preset resulted in a high of 72c. playing metro last light gave me avg 46c.

Pic Below is the thermal paste on the gpu from MSI.
