Howdy great peeps,

Seeing as Skyrim only really uses 2 cores,
is that why Intel (I7) performs way better (especially heavy modded)?

Since FX CPUs has for every thread, 1 core,
whilst Intel's I7 line has 1 core per 2 threads..

Skyrim uses 4 Intel I7 threads, and with the FX just 2, if I am correct?
(Played Skyrim heavily modded & framerate would drop so greatly with my old OCed FX, whilst this new Intel I7 4790K does not even stutter)

Looking forward to a reply,
Mike

Skyrim is indeed very CPU heavy and exhibits a limited amount of concurrency, so while this does lead to it performing much better on Intel microprocessors than comparable AMD microprocessors it doesn't do so for the reason that you describe.
