crash when running games at 4k ? why?

Solution
Crysis three being demanding is an understatement. But yeah I still think that the vram is the issue. You might be able to run it and see if an oom (out of memory) errors are recorded in the games logs.

if anyone has the same problem i discovered why this happens. under your control panel select adjust desktop size and position, the set perform scalling on: GPU instead of display. that should do it.

I would think that the gtx 760 doesn't have enough vram to run 4k in video games, but I could be mistaken. It also might be a confict between drivers and what not. But iirc it has 2gb of vram, which is usually too small for 4k, and thus the problem

the no longer crashes at 4k resolution. but i have frame rate issues, its strange, my computer runs crysis 3 on 2560x1440 on highs and mediums at around 140 fps. i switch to 4k res , its not much higher and i lower the graphic setting to low, and its stuck at 49 frames, as if my hz is locked there. im confused. my monitor is 60hz.
