Hello everyone,

I just recently completed my first build and having trouble with my GTX 480. I just wanted to know if my GPU is toast or if there is any way to save it. Basically, it overheats up to 115c within a couple of minutes of playing high res games and my FPS drops from 299 to 15. I have re-seated the heatsink with artic silver 5 and it still overheats. The temperature and fans were not present while using HWMonitor as well, even prior to re-seating the heatsink. Although I did find a program that read the GPU sensor (AIDA64) which showed that the GPU was running at least 70c+ on idle and spiked up to 115c after running CS GO and BF3 on high settings. I bought this GPU used and was looking forward to SLI it with my current GTX 480. Please advice so I can return it if its defective. Bought on Ebay with Ebay moneyback guarantee.
