I recently decided to overclock my ram from 1600mhz to 2133mhz and for some reason this caused my cpu temp to go down by about 10 degrees celcius. Any idea why this would be?

Specs
Asus Crosshair V Formula Z
EVGA supernova 1000w PSU
FX-8350@4.3Ghz
Kingston Red/Blue series @2133Mhz
R9 290

10 degrees is a lot, have seen it drop some when the DRAM is running slower but isn't set up right for the freq which causes the MC to really strain to run at say incorrect timings, that's a possible, not something you see often that's for sure

it just really caught me off guard, especially since overclocking stuff makes it hotter, but apparently the opposite here. But I cant really complain

Can't remember one that much, but have seen some really odd DRAM setups that ran but temps dropped when set correctly
