Hey guys, so I'm helping a friend build a video editing workstation pc. He will be using Maya, cinema4d, 3ds max and the adobe suite. Also, he does 4k/5k video editing and intro 3D modelling. His budget for the gpu is ~$500 CAD so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know :)

Personally i would stay away from AMD just my preference you dont have too. I would say that the 780 is all that you need and it should do what ever you want it to do. It is a mean machine. I wish i could get one :) (stuck with AMD) - not liking it.

Yeah that's what I figured.... we're uni students so we're on a pretty tight budget unfortunately. Ok there's Zotac ZT-70205-10P GTX 780 for $500. Do you guys know what the quadro/firepro equivalence is? Also, which brand is more value-performance orientated for overall video editing?
