So now that the new x99 chipsets and ddr4 ram is coming out it feels like a time to upgrade.

Currently I have an i5 2500k oc'd to 4.3ghz, gtx 570 and I do own a shield so I do prefer nvidia. Mostly a gamer but I also appreciate a pretty picture for media content.

1) do I buy a 780ti on sale now or wait for the new maxwell cards

2) I'm pretty set on a 2560x1440p display, do I get the new pg278q for the gsync and the 120hz or get the cheaper pb278q for a pls panel.

Appreciate any recommendations for the graphic cards or display

Hard to answer that question. Do you want the 780 performance now? Buy it, if not, wait :)

Who knows how long you might be waiting for the next platform.
