i tend to get them every once in a while and was just trying to think of the cheapest way to fix this problem. i know a variety of things can cause them from drivers, to faulty hardware, so seeing how my motherboard is fairly old M4NTD98 EVO by ASUS. Running AMD Athlon II X3 450 3.2, 4gb dual channel Crucial Ballistix ram 1600 sport 240 pin, toshiba 1tb hdd sata, 2 EVGA 9800GTX sli (16x16), raidmax psu 730 watt. i'm just trying to figure out what my problem would be, if anyone has any other suggestions please help me out.

Unless you're constantly loosing your settings it should have nothing to do with the CMOS bat. However if you keep getting weird messages during boot and loosing your bios settings then bluescreens may happen.

i dont get any weird messages during boot and the bios settings appear to stay the same. but i thank you for your reply, i may try this in the win 7 forum though, may be a software issue with a driver.

Blue screen is usually due to a Graphics card problem eg its drivers stopped working. But it can also because of power supply problems. Or the cpu overheating.

Did you get any error messages with the problem? It would be easier if you could tell us the error code and the file affected eg ntsokrnl.exe or whatever.

If there's no error messages, ots probably a hardware problem. Download HWInfo and run Sensors and post the results - usually 3 screenshots n TinyPic or similar.

I see two things i don't like. The nvidia MCP is over 50C and as i remember those have to run at under 60 but since you took the screenshots at idle i'm betting it goes over 60C. The other thing are your GPUs - idling at 65C is not good even for a 9800gtx.

What you need to do is clean the dust out of your PC thoroughly. Also if the temps don't drop enough you might want to consider keeping the case open and/or add a 120mm fan to blow air through your video cards.

Only 4gb ram

cpu - 1.4v, 3.2ghz, 37C (bit hot), fan 3600rpm (bit high)

You need to blow out your case - especially fans, filters and coolers.

PSU -one 3.3v reading is only 1.12V - check in bios what the 3.3, 5 and 12V values are and post the results.

GPU is on 67C (too hot) and 1.15V (too high). Decrease graphics card voltage. Use Afetrburner. Make sure your gpu fans are running over 1000rpm

emdea22, i cleaned the pc prior to installing the 2nd 9800, i should have mentioned that i was getting the bsod before installing it. when i installed the 2nd 9800 i added 4 120mm case fans on to fan controller to make sure the air flow would ok. Also, i removed the old thermal paste on both cards and added arctic silver 5. But I will keep an eye on the temps.

i7Baby , I will check the bios as soon as i get a chance, vacation is over and i'm back on 10 hour days 6 days a week. but when i check it i will post the results and i will get afterburner and reduce the voltage and up the rpm on the gpu fans.

once again, i would just like to thank both of you for your help.

Fire Stone, i will look into the sound drivers.
