I need some help with picking a graphics card. I have a budget of $600 and I'm Australian so pc parts are more expensive than in the USA...

Option 1) MSI GTX 780 (Link)

Option 2) Gigabyte GTX 780 (Link)

Option 3) An alternative (Any ideas?)

I would prefer to get the card from Umart as they're just about the cheapest I've found in Australia and there's a store just down the road. I'd also rather pick the card up as opposed to getting it shipped.

More about : gtx 780 msi gigabyte

Im an EVGA man and try to buy their cards whenever I can. Ive always had great service out of them, theyve always overclocked well and EVGA's customer service is exceptional. MSI and Gigabyte are both excellent brands as well and Id have no problem buying either of them (actually did have a MSI 9600GT back in the day).

That said, I really like MSI's Twin Frozr cooler. If it had to be those 2 cards, thats the one Id pick.

Well Asus' customer service is kind of a dumpster fire. EVGA's is excellent. Both are very well built cards but should you need a little TLC from the manufacturer, youre out there in the cold alone with Asus most likely.

MSI is the easy choice..... fastest, cheapest and the quietest. Giga gets knocked down cause their cards are loudest of the bunch.

On Air = MSI > Asus > Giga > EVGA
On Water = Asus > MSI > Giga > EVGA

All four manufacturers - ASUS, EVGA, Inno3D and MSI - made something special out of their GeForce GTX 780. The card that impressed us the most, however, was the ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5. The new cooler works like charm, and its performance is clearly reflected by the test results. The card also manages to stay very quiet and offers the best overclocking potential thanks to the new cooler. ASUS earns the Gold Award for its card.

We can't leave out the card from MSI. While it's slightly less overclocked and has less overall overclocking potential than the cards from Inno3D and EVGA, it's extremely quiet under load, the most silent of them all. It's also significantly cheaper than the other three, so if you're not planning on extreme overclocking, this MSI card is the best option.

An honorable mention goes to the Inno3D card. Out of the box it's the fastest, and while you can yourself get the other cards to the same level of performance, it's nice to have it guaranteed if you're not an experienced overclocker.

The EVGA ACX Superclocked also isn't a bad card. The only problem is that about the same amount of money will net you the ASUS card, a card which is superior in terms of cooling, noise and overclocking potential. EVGA will have to drop its prices to MSI levels to keep its card interesting.

EVGA rested on its laurels for far too long. And while the Classified is an excellent card, that level of quality does not extend to the SC series. In the 5xx series for example, when all the other vendors went to custom PCBs and beefed up multi phase VRMs, EVGA stayed with the reference card and stock VRMs on SC cards.

We see that also in PSUs .... whereas the HX series is an excellent PSU, still many peeps assume that that quality extends to the CX line .... it doesn't.

I'm gonna go with the Asus. EVGA is a little out of my price range. Thanks for all the help.
