Sorry for making this thread again, but I really need help.

Recently I've run into issues with my graphics card. (Mentioned in the title.)

When I have it hooked up my monitor doesn't get a signal, but when I take it out and use the normal ports it does. Now, I've had this graphics card for about 3 years now. it was working just fine up until about 4 hours ago when I tried to set up a second monitor (I didn't hook it into the Radeon).

Did I kill it?

did you make sure to plug in all the power and stuff for it and it is seated properly in the slot?

does it receive power? (fans spin up on it etc)

Yes, it's seated properly and the fan activates.

and all that you changed with trying to use a second monitor before this issue happened?

Eeeyup.

My brother was remotely helping me setup the second one, but we later realized that both monitors had to be hooked to the video card.

He did something that made the main monitor lose signal. I managed to get it back but then I logged out of my comp and the signal couldn't be found again.

Catalsyt Control Center

do you know what your bro or you did to try and change the monitor thing?

Even if I could use the CCC, the issue I'm having is when my vid card is in my computer...I don't get signal....so I literally can't "test" it or anything.

And I wasn't trying to run two off of one card.

if the monitor works on the on board you'll need to go back into the BIS and make it point back t the card............ them when you try and hook 2 monitors up............. hook the cables to the card.

Make sure you plugged the monitor into the graphics card, not the motherboard. You should be able to set PCI-e as primary in the UEFI BIOS.

...I wouldn't know how to...my monitor literally doesn't work when the graphics card is plugged in.

as we speak, the card is sitting on my desk. that's how I'm on my PC right now.

Even when the monitor is plugged into the mobo, if the vid card is seated I get nothing.

if you can't check the bios............. bad slot/bad card/not enough power?????????...... really stupid to call at this point because it can just be an easy fix. you need to willing to do some of the stuff.

Is this possible without the Radeon being installed?

yes, you are just setting which GPU you would prefer to be used

sort of like boot menu, you can choose boot from cd-rom ebfore boot from HDD, and if there is no CD in drive, it goes to HDD

so you set to prefer the pcie/dedicated graphics and if none is present, it will use the onboard

I'll try this in the morning. It's bed time now. I'll be back if I'm still having issues.

You're in the BIOS now? Then set your PCIe slot as primary
